In mid-November 2017, the AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris) launched a call for urban projects in order to initiate the profound transformation of a historic establishment: the Hôtel-Dieu. The modernization and reorganization of its activities makes possible the liberation of spaces that will no longer have a hospital or administrative function. It is not a question of exploiting a land opportunity, but of developing, in an exceptional heritage building, a project coherent with the activity of the AP-HP and the ambitions of the City of Paris.

BiecherArchitectes and Emerige, laureates of Réinventer Paris 2 for the site of the Beaux-Arts workshops of the City of Paris.

The rehabilitation of the former Hôtel de la Marquise de Sevigne will be carried out under the direction of BiecherArchitectes, associated with the Chief Architect of Historical Monuments 2BDM, in the greatest respect for the heritage character of the site and sustainable development. The Fabrique des Arts 3.0 aims to offer Paris a new venue dedicated to the creation and artistic manufacture in the digital era, projecting the website of the Beaux-Arts workshops of the City of Paris in the world of news technologies and doing-together. This program was designed by MAKE ICI, directed by Nicolas Bard, and Scintillo, represented by Steven Hearn.

A “UNIC” project that aims to become a benchmark for sustainable development and reflection on the urban housing of tomorrow. This achievement of 50 meters height deploys a succession of suspended terraces and houses housing, nursery and shops on an area of ​​11’252 m2. A monumental artwork by the artist Tobias Rehberger will invest the entrance to the future Pont Cardinet metro station.

Between the Buttes-Chaumont and the Place-des-Fêtes, the project is part of a dense urban fabric and mostly residential. The main facade of the building is aligned with the street, on five levels, and offers two additional levels of penthouse. Garden side, loggias extend the housing to the heart of the island. The building is distinguished by a shift that we have sought between the regular geometry of its facade and the random shape of its curved glass railings that dress the balconies.
